Our journey with Rich Clune started many years ago while he was with the Toronto Marlies. We were connected to the club via some of the best equipment staff in all of hockey and they expressed that some of the boys wanted some VG gear. We love that and love making sure everyone that shares the vision has what they need to support it. We started sending boxes of product out and the captain did his part making sure it was well dispersed and everyone had the hats, hoodies, etc. they needed.
Rich didn’t need to support us in this way or give us any extra attention. He wasn’t on the payroll but acted like he was. Simply because we showed up to support him, he reciprocated that love and respect. This has been a microcosm of Rich’s life and career which is well documented through his personal and professional success.
Although he’s currently thriving as he enters his next season of coaching in the NHL things weren’t always this easy. Rich had to overcome addiction which was a year’s long process that included learning how to check in on those around him. Through this he learned that when checking in on other’s you will also be checked on. Something we all need.
We won’t give it all away here, watch Rich’s full interview here and understand what a beautiful gent he is. If you see him around an NHL rink or city, make sure ya stop him to say hi. You won’t regret it…
